The Do Dham Yatra is a revered pilgrimage that takes devotees to two of the most significant temples in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India: Kedarnath and Badrinath. Kedarnath is one among the twelve jyotirlingas and Panch kedar of lord Shiva. Badrinath Temple is one among the Bada Chardham circuit which consists of visit to Puri, Kanyakumari, Dwarka and Badrinath temple and chota char dham yatra circuit hosted in Uttarakhand which consits of visit to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri temple. It is known for lord Vishnu’s presence in the dual form of Nar and Narayan.

Every year millions of devotees visit these temples to seek the blessing of lord shiva and Vishnu. In addition to divine power, these temples are also known for impeccable beauty all around. These holy shrines remains open only for six months a year. It generally opens in the month of April or May on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya and closes in the month of October or November on the occasion of Bhai dooj. The opening and closing dates of these temples are decided by the head priest of Ukhimath temple on the basis of dates in the Hindi calendar (Panchang) and holy scriptures.
